I wrote a paper once, about privatising health services in India. the basic theme was, if all health care centres were sold to some private body, it will be a completely changed scenerio.. The concept of private public partnerships was not known to me then.. i was just out of college..
But i just see how beneficial it would be to everyone.. a complete win win... to list a few benefits..
1.Better, more competent, and proffessional health care for citizens.
2.getting rid of extra flab, and freedom to ambitious docs to practice privately, and do it lawfully, resulting in healthy competetion and more revenues to govt.
3.spare cash with govt, to fund infrastructure.
4.job opportunities to docs who fail to secure govt jobs and have no capital to start on there own.

there could be concerns regarding the cost and quality of service provided.. but we have proved in many cases like telecom etc. that volumes are so high in india, competetion automatically reduces the tarriffs..

It will be a brave new world.. Clean and healthy.

Just wondering can we apply the same logic to education.. i'd like to think so..
