Also, this brings to my mind how i thought as an adoloscent that temples were not worth going.. they were just showoffs..
But that was then.. I was yet to face life on my own.. yet to be freed from the protective shadows of the elders..
Today i feel temples are showoffs..but worth going to..
I feel for you....
300 kms..too much..mine is 300 mtrs.. :D
and i would ask why do u find thm relevent today?
Two reasons.. 1.I found out with experience, strong as one may be.. there are times when he has to let go.. Just realise there is nothing that he can do.. he is not in control.. and during such moments.. one grows stronger.. instilling capacity to bear more.. stronger..and as i found, sitting in the temple, i felt taken care of.. I had done a big big mistake.. never thought i could do it.. but i did it and was devastated.. disappointed with myself..the incedent made me look at temples or all such places with some respect.
2. I feel the faith people put in temples, makes them special places.. some are beautifully built.. some built at beautiful places.. So it a worth watching place.. ne house of faith...
If only one could make them as peaceful as a chapel! In the hubble-bubble inside I'd die to be a priest in the quiet Garbhagriha :)
Vaise 300 km for Beer? O Ma!
My personal fav is manikarn sahib near manlai.. and Harmandir sahib(golden temple).
One of the reasons for them being my fav one's is that u can not get better "kadah" (halwa) anywhere in the world..!!!
the beer thing... yeah agonising 6 hours wait to hold that chilled bottle sitting in the sand.. wow..!! I love Div..
